Too funny, Bob! I was on the floor with #9 and skin effects. And #7: there will be a thread Cable Asylum - soon I'll bet - on cable jacket polishes and treatments, and Armor All vs. furniture polish vs. [insert product here]. Oy. It seems your break for spring fishing provided some good insights into audiophile priorities. But that smoking thing, hmmm, so many variables...

My contributions to cheap tweaks:
1. Put a silver-dollar shaped piece of Blu Tak off-center on all the windows in the listening room. It can help a lot with a potential source of noise.
2. If you find you're listening to your system and not enjoying it, STOP. Keep your A-S amps/preamp, and shop for different "peripherals" immediately. See the Zen page on my site below for my recommended test for system synergy.
