Before sending my CLS 1 to Ben Openshaw of Electrostatic Doc for the overhaul, I compared carefully the CLS with the Quad 988, the Final 1.2 and the Audio Exclusif ESL PA 3 driven by its appropriate high voltage direct coupled amps, to my knowledge the only ones on the planet at the moment.
The rest of the story is short: after the listening tests I send the CLS 1 to Ben. And I am not looking back to either the Quad, nor the Final, nor the Audio Exclusif.
I will get the GRAAF GM 20 OTL over Easter. Just to hear what this OTL talk is all about.
We stay tuned.
