I have used the CLS-1's since early 1987 with my cherished Counterpoint
SA-4 OTL monoblocks with superb results all these years.
I had to sell my CLS-1's on Sound Anchor stands about a year ago. I moved
and had no room to set them up properly. I have since installed a dedicated
listening room in my basement which is 23 x 17 x 7.5. I wish I could get
my CLS's back.
The later models of the CLS's would probably not match well with any OTL
amp save for the giant MA2's. The new Quads may be a possibility, although
I have not yet heard them.
One word describes the CLS-1's with an OTL amp. SOUNDSTAGE, you are literally transported the the recording location like I have never heard before or since, really quite amazing.
