The ZERO's, Yet another review...

Everybody knows that the ZERO's are a must to improve
the sound of any Atma-Sphere... Even though I got the
same results as everyone else, I wanted more...

The reason behind it, is that there are several multiplying
factors, when in reality, most of us will need x2 or x4. And
this could be achieved with less windings, or using for inputs
one of the outputs. So why not use, for example the Blue/Yellow
taps as input, instead of outputs for a x2 multiplier?
With this setup, you get a "smaller" transformer for the
same core, therefore, you should get a more linear response.
After discussing this with Paul Speltz, he told me that the
Blue/Yellow taps could be used as inputs, with a x2 factor
on the White/Black outputs. So I went ahead...

The result was very impressive! The sound opened in way
I really didn't expect... a huge soundstage, incredible
dynamics and FOCUS, something I always missed on my system,
either with the ZERO's in a conventional setup or without
them... This was particularly notorious with orchestras,
that really didn't seem to "fit" on my speakers...

Try it yourself... I believe Paul will add this setup
to his page about the ZERO's so you'll get more details
there...

BTW, my speakers are the B&W Nautilus 805 and the amp
is the M50 with a Mk.II differential cascode using 6FQ7s.
The ZERO's are the only thing between them...
