Re: Will the Atma Spheres drive my Martin Logan Prodigys

Christian,

I auditioned a single Evo 200.2 (100w/ch) in my system for two weeks. The
odd thing was that the 100w/ch Evo 200.2 could not play as loud as my
Atma-Sphere M-60s with half the tubes pulled (30w/ch). So it is difficult
to compare Evo watts to Atma-Sphere watts.

The Prodigies are a 4 ohm speaker that dip down to 1 ohm at 20kHz, so they
are not an easy load for any amplifier. I believe the Atma-Sphere MA-2
mkII.2 or MA-1 mkII.2 will easily drive your M-L Prodigies.

Adam Berusch in Colorado is driving his M-L CLS IIz speakers with A-S amps,
and John Fisher in Australia is driving his M-L Request speakers with A-S
MA-1 clones.

The Evo amps do bass quite well. I have a friend that is very happy using
them for bass and tube amps from 150 Hertz on up.

Hope this helps.
