Any thoughts or suggestion would be appreciated...Follow-up: I haven't had any reappearance of the loud low-frequency hum and crackle - good sign, but don't understand why not. The mid-frequency buzz appears to be the result of a mechanical buzz from the power transformers. The buzz is noticeable in the room, and if I get right next to the amps it's very apparent that the transformers in both chassis are buzzing. Plus, the frequency of the mechanical buzz matches the frequency of the buzz I'm hearing out of the speaker, so I assume the tubes are picking it up from the chassis and adding it to the signal. If I put the amps in standby, the buzz disappears from both the transformers and the speakers.
Is mechanical buzzing from these transformers common? It's pretty noticeable in the room. Any suggestions for eliminating it?
