Yes, you're right, it's natural to store things vertically. But some people have those CD racks that store CDs horizontally, hundreds of CDs, maybe thousands.
I can't help noticing you didn't answer my question - How can changing the orientation of a bunch of CDs have even the slightest affect on sound quality?
