When I first tested my Tuba HT facts that I could previously only theorize were confirmed. Testing outdoors I was reading SPL in excess of 100dB in the 10-20Hz range but couldn't hear anything other than wind passing through the horn. It had to get into the mid 20s before it was audible, the mid 30s before it was loud, and in the mid 40s before I could discern pitch, due to its extremely low THD.
