Aluminium?TruExtent diaphragms too polite? Do they take time to break in? Guessing the ones I heard MANY years ago, when they were a new thing (came with a titanium screwdriver) and were recently installed (days if not a week?)
Regards the need for re-magnetization:
Just a guess, but...
If the only problem is level, 3-6 dB between drivers?, and other than level they sound great...
And were part of a 1000 mi. move recently...
And they don't like to be banged around...
Be the first thing I'd think of, having been through this before on used drivers. I have three so sending them in one at a time isn't much of a problem (other than shipping, packaging and weight).
And I also suspect that two of the three may not have original diaphragms, thus my questions, so brilliantly answered above. :-)
Polite would be good, at least for me.
First they came for the dumb-asses
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a dumb-ass
