Hey Freddy: yeah Dennis made that statement (or as close as I can recall) in one of the threads at Rogs site. Don't remember which one though. I have listened to a good number of PA's but have never heard anything that has the impact of a Karlson. Sitting at a parade curbside a martching band can wack you the same way. It's that combination of the sheer level of all those acoustic instruments combined with the physical impact that always gets me.
Yes metro comment on the Koupler being taken from the Karlson but really they claim that this (T15) is original work. If this were 1960 John would have them in court and shut down. I am sure though that there was a lot of hard work done to juggle things to make thier cabinet do what it does and that is to thier credit. the T15 is as you say a great size for a 15 inch driver cabinet.
Interesting to note (for me) that the dimensions of the T15 Koupler tapers is almost square. The ones that I use on my K-Lines are pretty much square also but I stop mine at the top edge of the deriver. You know if you wraped the koupler back down around the back of the cabinet you could start to get some real (1/4 wave)low frequency line action and not take up a whole lot more volume. Starts to look like a TAP if you lose the vent just as you suggested. Seems to be more logical than loading the back of the driver to the mouth (of the Koupler) by means of a vent into another vent. The Hog Scoop is a nice clean example of what I am thinking of.
