Altec 802-8D question

High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

Can anyone tell me about the binding posts..they are labeled 1 and 2
which one is the - or + ?...does it even matter with compression drivers?

I know I have seen this question asked somewhere ...but no amount of search variations gets me close to an answer..
