Mainly magnet size, both are 15" woofers with a compression driver mounted behind the woofer and the horn coming through the pole piece and ending with a small multi-cell.Basically the 604 is a 515 woofer combined with an 802 driver and the 605 is a 416 woofer combined with an 806 driver.
There are many variations of the 604 and each one has it's champions, the 604 went into production around 1945 and as you know is still made by GPA.
There were two models of the 605; 605A and 605B. Info on what the differences were is hard to come by. Some say the B used the cone and suspension of the 515 but retained the 416 motor, I dunno. Most Bs are gray and As are greenies but some Bs are greenies too.
