Competing SACD Players within System

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

I have both an Esoteric K-05X and a Lindemann 820 and I enjoy them both very much. To compare them I'd have to say the Lindemann is more warmly musical, while the Esoteric excels in detail retrieval without being overly clinical. I would prefer a player remaining DSD throughout, but I recall somewhere seeing a comment that the Esoteric has PCM in the chain. Can anyone confirm this?

I bought the Esoteric primarily for its transport mechanism, which is a bit methodically slow but works every time. The Lindemann occasionally will misread discs with larger open, clear areas near the center as no-disc. The Lindemann has a Sony transport and I have seen updated transports for these players available online. Anyone have any experience with these? Would that be easily installed by a minimally functional tech?
