I find SACD is best in mch and I believe this Forums resident technical expert Kal agrees but not using a receiver. No way would I get a product modified with antique tubes or pay IMO a rip off price for same. Whilst I am not a Oppo fan , it seems to me that the Oppo 205 playing mch SACD is a much better buy than the stereo only Marantz SA-10. Reading your review one can only wonder as to why anyone would want to Modwright the 205, you do not say it is a bit cold & clinical as Modwright claim , in fact quite the opposite ,and soundstage will be improved with the mod., your Universal-Sensation review is a contradiction. I wonder if Oppo buddy Kal will review the 205 in mch SACD. Just read a post in Audioshark that says Modwright mods leave analogue outputs unchanged.
