What makes you say that?

Sigma delta DACs require op amps with matched (or at least complementary) characteristics for best results. Substituting the manufacturer recommended op amp with a "better" model will yield different results, but "different" is not necessarily "better".

I'm a big believer in implementing the manufacturer suggested analog stage, if the manufacturer took the trouble to provide a "recommendation".

As an example, the CD player that I built uses a "common garden variety" analog stage, and it sounds better (and measures better) than Joe's tweaked Marantz (IMHO only of course on the "sounds better", but it definitely measures better).
