Today, I picked up my Blue Circle headphone adapter at the PO and just played it for a few minutes, using a 12W PP triode wired pentode pair of monos from Abraxas Audio (Jeff Larsen). To start with, I just plugged in a pair of the old high impedance version of the HD 598. I listened to Bruckner Symphony #7, a very dynamic piece of music. My first impression is that it sounds very good. On my HD800, Leonard Cohen has never sounded better on tunes, like Alexandra Leaving.Blue Circle makes these, custom, according to your specifications. And the prices are reasonable.
I need to try my 2-stage 45 amps next, but i am pretty sure i will have some hum problems, so i will use cans that i have with lower impedances, like the K-701, my favorite anyway.
The URL will show you a picture of a model from the BC site, not mine.
