Today, I picked up my Blue Circle headphone adapter at the PO and just played it for a few minutes, using a 12W PP triode wired pentode pair of monos from Abraxas Audio (Jeff Larsen). To start with, I just plugged in a pair of the old high impedance version of the HD 598. I listened to Bruckner Symphony #8, a very dynamic piece of music. My first impression is that it sounds very good.
Blue Circle makes these, custom, according to your specifications. And the prices are reasonable.
I need to try my 2-stage 45 amps next, but i am pretty sure i will have some hum problems, so i will use cans that i have with lower impedances, like the K-701, my favorite anyway.
