They are great cans, and I liked them a lot when I had them. To my ears, they performed better than the Edition 9's I had. But for classical?
I realize you're asking specifically about the D7000's, and I sort of hate it when folks give recommendations from left field, but I'll do just that.
I'd recommend you look into the LCD 2. Used, they'll be priced in the same ball park as the D7000 and to these ears, outperformed them (from my recollection). I've had and sold a ton of high end cans and the LCDs are the only ones I regret letting go. I'll probably get them again some day.
And they should play nicely with your amp.
Just a thought.
