Travel

As I have continued to fail retirement, I've had rather a lot of travel. I won't use earbuds, not having found any I like.

I try to travel with a pair of headphones, generally Grado SR80s with aftermarket ear pads. The Grado's don't have Bluetooth, but the FIIO BTR 11 is a cost-effective and fairly resolving Bluetooth adapter that hangs off the headphone's cord and works well for streaming, music libraries, etc. In fact, this little setup allows me to have high quality music while awaiting or taking flights. BTW - the little FIIO has enough power to drive the Grado's and my somewhat more demanding FIIO FT1 headphones.

The Grado's fold flat, which makes it possible for me to stow them conveniently, and the FIIO BTR 11 is a very small device.

This little combination has improved significantly the quality of my travel. Oh, BTW, several airlines are now offering in-seat entertainment with Bluetooth, so the BTR 11 is a very useful little device indeed.
