I just got another pair of stats, the Koss ESP-950, instead of a pair of planars. This doesn't help me in any way with my problem of having my energizers serviced, but I couldn't pass up the deal I found. I've wanted to try the Koss since I discovered STAX, but $1000 (US) is obscene for what you get. $500, which is what I was offered, is far more reasonable. I have to purchase an adaptor for STAX energizers: The consensus is the Koss energizer is quite poor. The adaptor isn't cheap but a necessity.
