grado sr200 prestige

i found these older grados and my impression is that there is supposed to be some sort of membrane over the back of the driver that you can poke holes in to get more bass. mine seems to have no such layer, and no indication that the plastic housing was disassembled so that such a layer could have been removed. What gives?
