Yes, but some low impedance headphones are a little more difficult to drive. For example, the AKG K702 and K702 headphones are rated at 62 ohms, but they do much better with an amp's medium or high gain setting. This depends in part on how powerful the CD player's headphone amp is.

Therefore, I would suggest picking a recording you know well and seeing whether your headphones sound better on the low or medium gain setting.,
