The only AKG's I have are on old pair of K240's, so I can't help you with the eval. However, those headphones look interesting. They are a very practical design for a high quality portable and the price is very reasonable.

My wife confiscated the Beats headphones that I got for free with my PowerBook. I didn't like them much, so I didn't fret much about it, but I was looking for something to replace them. I will be very interested in your results. These might be the ticket. A USP DAC might also be in order. Lots of good and cheap ones available these days.

I'd also like to learn more about the HP-4e 4 channel headphone amp. I'd like to be able to listen to headphones with my wife. I think they sell this stuff at a music store near me.
