If the Pangea doesn't work, try the Grado extension cable. I've been using one for years, and I've not noticed any life sucking or such.

If you decide to go with aftermarket cables in the end, I've just ordered Periapt cables for my Senn 6XX and Elears. Reasonably priced, and hoping they're as good as advertised.
