Got the Audio Technica ATH-AD 2000X (they came from Japan, in less than a week) and Sony MDR-Z1R last week. Both used. Tried listening to some YT stuff. My computer has Sound Blaster Audigy RX card, which came with the desktop (generic Alienware).First impressions. AT is more efficient than the Sony. Even though it is open-back and the Sony are closed. AT is shifted a bit more to highs. Could be that these were less used and not fully broken in. The Sony are smoother. Bass-to mid-to highs.
AT are very nice. Slight more up-front than the Sony. Sony has better resolution, at this point. I'll listen to the AT a bit more, then compare, again.
I didn't add any accessories. Stock wires. Stock ear muffs.
Both are very comfortable. Lightweight, well-balanced. You forget you even have them on, until you try to talk to someone and blow them out of the room --- by shouting.
