Let me ask you something. When watching a dvd on either of these players, what do you see when you press the DISPLAY button? My first player was a rinky dink Toshiba SD-1200. When I press display I get on one screen a nice readout showing the time elapsed, time remaining, chapter time elapsed, chapter time remaining, chapter number, and the audio format being output(DD 2ch, DD5.1, DTS6.0, PCM 2CH, etc.). Press DISPLAY one more time and I get a meter showing the bitrate in MB's per second. I've grown fond of this display and like seeing this information. I've since tried two different mid-end DVD players that don't present this info as nicely and in some cases not at all. What I'm wondering is if all Toshiba DVD players use this same format for the display menu. If so, then I need to find an adequate progressive scan/dvd-a Toshiba player. The one you listed sounds nice. I don't see it on www.toshiba.com for some reason. Do they have any dvd-a models in the $400-$999 range?
