But, Racer, I really don't know what point you are trying to make. There was no questionmark about that issue. As we know from reading Ainlay's interview, everything was analog prior to the Nuendo import anyway.
Sure, I did question to Michi whether she thought that a 44.1kHz/16bit upsample to 176.4/32bit rez would have been viable alternative audiophile process. I was interested in her thoughts on the matter. And I valued her intelligent, informed response.
In addition, a pure digital PCM capture from the DASH tapes would have been problematic, since the original PCM had "pre-emphasis" on, but which was easily 'removed' by using the DASH’s own analog outs.
