The output transformers I ordered through PCX for my 300B monoblocks arrived with what appears to be a clear coat type seal over very "dirty looking" dark spots covering the copper shrouds. . . It's as though the dirt, grease and grime was "sealed in" to avoid oxidation . . .
Anyone dealt with this issue and willing to share their cleaning strategies? Chemicals needed, etc.
I need to remove what appears like a clear sealant, clean the copper shrouds, then properly re-seal to avoid oxidation . . . for what they charge for these I am surprised they were sent in such bad shape . . .
If they weren't sitting on top of my amp chassis in clear sight I probably wouldn't worry about it but they are huge and sit on top so clearly will be seen and therefore I would like them to look good. . .
(the photo is not very clear but it somewhat shows the spots)
Thanks,
M-
