noise in an AN DAC

re AN DACs. What's that ratatatat noise I hear the minute signal is fed by a transport? sort of like wee machineguns. or high frequency motorboating. or kids running a stick through a wood fence. the owner tells me that all the dealer advised him to just turn it off, and turn it back on again. I noticed this in the DAC Zero, and in the DAC 2.

sounds like some kind of a relay problem?

the "turn it off/turn it on" works, but that's not a "solution"

any ideas?
