DAC AES/EBU Digital Input & Captive Cables

Hi there, I am looking to change my Dac input from SPIDF to AES/EBU as I am about to upgrade my M2Tech HiFace to the new Evo version.

Can anybody help with these questions:

1) Having looked through the original build instructions that came with my Dac 2.1 Kit I am little unsure how to wire this. There are three pads for the AES/EBU input on the digital board, oval, round and square, my guess is square is ground/shield - what are the other two?

2) I have a marked preference for using captive cables (i,e soldered directly to the board) leading out from the Dac thus avoiding a socket. This has worked very well with the Audio out, is this OK with digital inputs.

3) Do I need to change the Digital Interface Transformer, HiFi collective spec Trans-269 for AES/EBU?

4) I assume I change the R36 resistor from 75 to 110 Ohm.
