Another option to look into would be an ipod loaded with Apple lossless format files through the new Wadia 170 iTransport that bypasses the ipod DAC, into an AN 2.1 DAC via SPDIF over RCA coax.

A third option is the Logitech Duet which would stream bit perfect Apple lossless files from iTunes using the computer of your choice. The Duet receiver would connect to the DAC 2.1 via SPDIF over RCA coax. It will also stream internet radio and subscription services such as Sirius.

I am considering both options into my DAC2.1 which absolutely blew me away once it broke in. First few weeks it was a bit like breaking in a wild horse but now it is amazing.
