you replace the bridge rectifier (KBU6J) with schottkys which comes before the regulator (LM7812 i think)
the schottkys do have a lower voltage drop across them which give you a higher voltage output to the regulator
the regulator puts out the same voltage regardles of input (within limits) so the voltage going out to your filaments is unchanged
