I built a beta balanced line pre-amp(which is a prototype of the L3-line) several years back. The group that got involved in this project had a hum problem until we came to a universal star-grounding system, but a slight hum, which is only noticeable at close range to the speakers still remained on my amp. When I upgraded my PQ sig+ to 2 watt tants I noticed the hum got a little bit louder, so when I saw the choke coupling I asked Brian to ship me one. Last night I installed the choke and the cap according to the schematic. I forgot there was a .01uf/630V underneath the board, which is now substituted by this 68uf/450V. I powered up my systems this morning and found that audible hum has gone down to its original stage which you can hear when you put your ears very close to the speakers. So all in all this choke-decoupling did its work. Next mod will be installing two volume attenuators and switch extension. Hopefully the remaining minuscule hum will go away after the mod.Chris
