Hi Felix,

The sound coming out of my faulty amp is pretty constant and does not vary in volume as in your case. The rustling sounds also disappeared once the fault had "stabilized."

Before you swap your output trans, have you checked the other possible fault areas such as coupling caps, tubes, tube sockets, dry joints, components, operating voltages etc? I would expect the output trans to be one of the last to give a problem.

Brian had responded very quickly to my distress (Thanks Brian!) & I would be expecting to receive a pair of replacement interstage transformers pretty soon.
