Questions regarding the TT1

Here's the deal - I really want a good turntable and after reviewing the TT1 and TT2 I think I'm kind of forced going with the TT1. The price my dealer has for it is such that even with the arm and cart it would be cheaper than the TT2 without arm and cart.

Anyway, I've bounced back and forth in my head that i could wait and wait for a TT2 but while I'm waiting I'm stuck listening to the NAD 533/Shure M97Xe that I don't like.

I can get the TT1 and Arm 1 for about $1200.00 Cad (I can't find US price lists anymore). The TT1 (no arm) was $975. The model TT1/arm 1 appears to be a demo unit (and in Silver but has some paint issues) so not sure if it is such a great deal especially if it's a demo(demo is a nice word for used so it should be dropped about 40% of retail. I'd still be ponying up for a cart. I'd figure with the Cart it should run $1200.00

It's my first choice but I was very impressed with the budget Pro-Ject Debut models but the AN dealer does not have a $1200 - $1600.00 model. So it's fine to say it blows away a $700 Debut III but against similar competition?

Granted the TT1 price is supposed to be considerably reduced relative to a n Eastern dealer who wants $1499.00 with no arm or cart.

I've been out of the country for 2 years and I know the US dollar has drastically fallen so it may in fact be a great deal...I just want to be sure.

On another note - what does an old Reference 3 typically go for...or Voyd
reference. That was a staggeringly good sounding player *drools over keyboard* machine. I figure TT1 to tide me over for 5-10 years to get the Voyd.

Also - at the TT1 $1200.00 price I could probably get a better cart (What's the difference between Cart 1, 2 and 3?) With the TT1 I might even be able to afford to buy Audio Note speaker cables -- finally an all AN set-up.

I was going to do the DAC but I figure the TT1 combo would still beat the snot out of the Dac1 - despite the one motor.
