I have always wanted to ask this question: whether varying the output voltage of the DAC has any effect on the sound?

I have a DAC One.1X (the finished product) and a kit1 amp. The high output voltage of the DAC has caused some distortion problem, so recently I've been experimenting swapping the resitors (the stock resistor value are 1K). I've replace them with 470 ohms, and now 390 omhs. I notice as Im reducing the resistor value the distortion goes away but I less a touch less dynamic in the sound.

Would appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks
