Amp/Preamp Asylum

Part of what I enjoy about the audio hobby is switching and mixing up my gear. I do have a dedicated stereo, but occasionally - ya gotta try something new.

I've had the NAD C326BEE integrated amp and NAD C275BEE power amp for several years. But my previous mixing with them left me indifferent. But that was with different cables and speakers. Now I had a pair of Zaph Audio SR71 speakers that I had built over a year ago. Hooked up my 14 guage speaker wire interconnect between pre and amp, mid priced interconnect between source and pre, hooked up the Zaph speakers.

You know when you hear that "holy @rap" moment. Yeah, that one! But that's not to say I don't enjoy my other setups. Just pleasantly enjoying a new addition to the rotation.

I usually have my Marantz PM8004 as the preamp. Next week I'll be switching back to tubes. My fully restored Sherwood S-5000 vintage tubed preamp. that will stay in rotation until the spring.
