Glad you like it. What were you using before? I have read that the Atom are a steal.
I have listened at moderate to high volume level this morning and it seemed clear that the studio 40s would benefit from more power reserve, not to be louder but to be more dynamic/impactful. However, the 40s output a descent amount of bass already a little below 40Hz, so with more power, I feel like the subwoofer can be avoided. I will eventually move to the studio 60 or 100.
ZTherefore, one path could be to get a bigger amp (i.e. Emotiva UPA-2) and keep the adcom pre 710 in the system until I can save more for the Emotiva pre or better.
ZGoing the integrated way on my small budget makes me think that I will end up with an underpowered system.
THe smaller MArantz, NAD, etc.. are meant to power smaller bookshelves.
