One test is to put a single speaker on a lazy-Susan (so it can be rotated in place) and then take gated measurements from left-off-axis to on-axis to right-off-axis (-n degrees to 0 degrees to +n degrees) in fixed rotational increments and then compare.
Mic position would not change, speaker position would not change, just the speaker's rotation on the lazy-Susan.
Observed Delta's I would predict is:
- Tweeter-beaming to be the strongest on axis.
- Increased tweeter/midrange XO region summation/smearing issues the more you go off-axis (based on their center-2-center distance).
