Interesting. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Motown music. After I saw that movie, it gave me a greater appreciation for the sound behind Motown that runs through so much of the music produced on the label. Always upbeat and energetic to my heart and ears.

Growing up, I'd heard all the conjecture about what made the Motown sound magic; which was usually attributed to Barry Gordy or things as extraneous as the location, but never the instrumentalists. "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" righted a wrong and finally gave props where they were due. Albeit, if not a few decades too late.
