that playing to an argument of the Mylar "stretching" over time opens up a an of worms such as HOW much the Mylar stretches and just HOW much that is contributing to increased distortion. The precise moment the diaphragm is fully broken in it then moves toward being TOO broken in and the degradation of the sound begins.
Really, we need to have audiophiles who are more keen on this decrease in performance. One would think we are so sharp that we can tell just as easily the speaker has "Broken Out" as opposed to Broken In. ;)
Frankly, I have ceased to be impressed with the Big Sheet driver methodology employed by many Panel makers today; it's very old form speaker making. Soon the community will hear my objections to this in my new review of the King Sound King III.
