While the changes you propose do flatten the output curve, it is good to keep in mind that this is just the electrical response and assumes ideal drivers with equal sensitivity at all frequencies. Shifting the fc of the tweeter from ~3300 to ~1400 Hz means that it will be "working harder" and its response at the lower end may not be the same at its intended range.
I have said it before, but I think changing the crossover from Magnepan's design is a bad idea. After all, they make their living by giving you the best speaker performance they can and thus spend a considerable amount of time perfecting the crossover before they go to market. That isn't to say that improvements can't be made but the odds of you or I coming up with something better is slim to none. Improvements can be made by using higher quality components but not by changing the design. Just my opinion.
