I have found the Velodyne QED-R sub to be very good it had a mic and eqs the room a remote with several presets for movies , rock ,Jazz and a reconditioned 8" which weighs some 40 lbs can be had for $300 delivered as a reconditioned unit and the sound quality is very good.
