Pandora One downloads in a burst the next 'track', and starts playing it.

During the playing, it doesn't use the network until close to the end of the existing track and then it starts the next download.

I think it's better on the network than having streaming small packets which must get through with good timing. It's more like just plain downloads which I think the consumer internet is better at.

I all I know is that most other internet radio a few years ago drove me nuts because of the stops and starts.
