With a 30' run, your amp may have some problems? ...

30' is a very long speaker cable - which will have (relatively) a lot of capacitance ... which some amps can't take. (They will go into oscillation and destroy their output stages - this has happened to me! :-(( )

So what you need is the lowest capacitance cable you can get. If you've never run your amps with 30' cables before, I suggest you should do a cheap experiment:
* buy some standard, stranded 'figure 8' speaker cable or lamp cord.
* rip it down the middle to separate the 2 wires.
* place them on the ground at least 4" apart (for as much of their length as possible).

This will give you the lowest 'C' cable you can get. If your amp copes with it, put the wires closer together by an inch - and see what happens. See if the amp is getting hotter than usual.

This will be higher 'C' but lower 'L' - which is a good thing! :-)) (Inductance acts as a brake on current.)

Keep doing this in stages until - if you can get it there - the 2 wires are next to each other. If your amp is still behaving itself then you will have a fair choice of cable - most except the high 'C' braided cables and ribbons, I would think.

Can't you move your amp(s) closer to the Maggies? :-((

Regards,

Andy
