I have been debating for awhile now. UPA-1's or XPA-1's.

I had the XPA-5 and found it too bright for music. For H.T. it was fine. This is with it driving the 1.6's.

From Emotiva, the UPA-1 is actually one module from the XPA-5, but since
it has a dedicated power supply, the sound is warm compared than the XPA-5.

During their sales, you could get 3 UPA-1's for a little more than one of XPA-1. That's where I'm still trying to make a choice. XPA-1 at 90lbs to ship, it's costly to send back for a repair if needed, since I'm on the West Coast.
