I don't remember how many BB's I used, but I remember buying them at both Dick's and K-Mart when neither one of them had enough by themselves. Each container had at least 1500 BB's and I got 3 or 4 of them, so ~ 4000 - 6000 total. One 10 lb bag of Reptisand was enough, even with having to add some now and then as it settles.
Here's some info from the FAQ on the Myesound site:
"What do you recommend for fill material? For those who feel the need, on the struts only I recommend pouring in reptisand (pet stores) or filtered sand. Let it settle naturally over time and add more if required. The bases in my opinion do not require filling."
I figured putting weight in the base, while not required, couldn't hurt and I didn't intend to fill just the struts, then go back and do the bases to see if there is any difference. I preferred to do them both at the same time. They're nice and solid, but still easy enough to move (slide) using points and pads.
Regards,
Steve
