Nice report. 30hz? Really? Back in 1999 when I compared the 2.7 to the then new 1.6 .. as you say, no comparison. I bought the 2.7's that day. They now are in storage as I went w/the 3.6's 4 years ago. The bass response of the stock 3.6's drops off right at 34hz (measured in the room) so if with mods you're getting the 2.7's to play at 30hz that's outstanding. With mods my 3.6's are now (again measured) doing the same and maybe a bit into the high 20's... Fun stuff.
