According to the ML web page, they're using DSP with a digital amp for the lower end.

Makes sense to me, I've been using the poor man's version DSP (Behringer DCX) for my subs, works much better than any built-in x-over in a plate amp.

Now if you could adjust the bass via your PC, like can be done with the DCX, that would be cool.
