I would suggest that old tube XO may not cut the mustard! :(( ...

Googling it and getting a few specs, I see that:
* Crossover points are selectable at 50/100/400/500/800/1k/1.5k/2k/3.5k/5kHz
* Slopes are adjustable at:
- 6/12db/octave below 200Hz, and
- 6db/octave above 200Hz.

That's not particularly useful as if you want to use stock slopes, you need 18dB for the bass roll-off and 12dB everywhere else.

However, going 2-way active with a flexible active XO will IMO deliver you a much better result than the XO-1.
